Charmanta Auxiliary is composed of Assistance League members with limited volunteer time. Many of Charmanta's activities are held in the evening since most of the women of Charmanta work full-time during the day. Creators of the WE CARE project, Charmanat members support Kids Kottage, a transitional home environment operated by Washoe County Social Services. Children placed in Kids Kottage are there for varied reasons, but all of them are there because of disruption in their homes. WE CARE works in three areas at Kids Kottage. First, the volunteers of Charmanta go to the Kottage and host holiday and special event parties for the children. Second, they buy items for the Kottage to help staff and children enjoy a more efficient and attractive facility. Third, they provide each child that comes to Kids Kottage with an attractively decorated tote bag. Along with Kids Kottage, Charmanta makes all the hygiene kits for the children at Operation School Bell. Those members of Charmanta with day time hours to volunteer work in the Thrift Shop and help us dressers at Operation School Bell.
